List your tour

The practical guide to building your first Gollo listing.

Your first listing, done right.

Once you're an approved host, your dashboard has a "New tour" button that walks you through six short steps. Each one has pro tips below — the difference between a listing that gets one booking a month and one that fills up.

The six steps

  • Basics — title, category, duration, group size
  • Location — city, country, meeting point (public), private meeting notes + photo (confirmed guests only)
  • Details — description, what's included, what to bring, languages
  • Itinerary — the timeline of what happens when (optional but converts better)
  • Pricing — per-person price, currency, cancellation policy
  • Photos — real photos of the tour, minimum one hero shot

Getting the basics right

  • Title. State what someone will actually do and where. "Sunrise Wet Markets Walk — Chinatown" beats "Amazing Bangkok Food Experience." Concrete beats effusive.
  • Category. Pick the primary one accurately. Travellers filter by category, so mislabelling costs you bookings.
  • Duration. One tour = one duration. If you want a shorter and longer version of the same tour, list them separately — each gets its own reviews and photos.
  • Group size. Small groups convert. If you can, cap at 6-8 unless the tour genuinely scales (walking food tours cap at ~10, bus tours at 20-30).

Location and meeting point

Two fields, and getting the difference right matters:

  • Meeting point (public). Neighbourhood or general area. Shown on the public tour page. Do NOT put your exact address here.
  • Meeting-point address + photo + phone (confirmed only). The exact street address, a photo of the spot, and a contact number you're reachable on the day. Only revealed to travellers with a confirmed booking.
  • Private meeting notes. Anything specific — "look for the red door next to the ATM" — that helps guests find you on the day. Only visible after confirmation.

Public exact addresses attract no-shows and gawkers who never book. The confirmed-only reveal keeps meeting-point details for the people who've actually paid.

Writing the description

Answer the traveller's three questions in this order:

  • What will I do? — the activity, not the marketing
  • What's included? — transport, tickets, snacks, drinks, guide time
  • Who's this for? — adventurous / low-key / kids OK / not stroller-friendly / etc.

Two short paragraphs is plenty. Skip the exclamation marks and adjectives.

Adding an itinerary (optional but strongly recommended)

Tours with itineraries convert noticeably better because travellers can picture how the time will unfold. Break your tour into 3-6 stops with rough timing. The itinerary editor lets you add, reorder, and edit stops any time.

Pricing

  • Anchor to comparable tours in your city. Search Gollo for what other hosts charge for similar length + group size. Being significantly cheaper doesn't always win — travellers read low prices as low effort.
  • Price per person, not per group. Group discounts happen via your max-group-size and any custom pricing tiers you set.
  • Currency is your choice. Set your listing in the currency you get paid in. Travellers see prices converted to their preferred currency automatically.

Pick a cancellation policy:

  • Flexible — full refund up to 24h before the tour. Converts best.
  • Moderate — full refund up to 5 days before.
  • Strict — 50% refund up to 7 days before. Best for high-cost tours where you're likely to turn down other bookings.

See Host resources for the full pricing playbook.

Photos

  • Real photos of the tour — not stock imagery, not just the city
  • One wide establishing shot — sets the scene
  • A few of the actual activity — what the traveller will do
  • One of you — this is what turns a listing into a person
  • Landscape or portrait both work. Blurry does not.

Photos are the single biggest driver of click-through rate. Spend the extra hour here.

After you activate

Once you activate your listing, it goes live immediately — visible in search, on category pages, and on your city's destination landing. Track views and bookings in your host dashboard.

You can edit any field anytime; changes save instantly. Photos, description, pricing, availability — all editable without needing to re-publish.
